广州为什么叫can

广州被简称为“穗”，而不是“can” 。

“穗”的由来与一个传说有关：相传古代有五位仙人，穿着不同颜色的衣服，骑着不同毛色的羊， each holding a stalk of cereal in their hands. They blessed the land of Guangzhou and left the grains of rice before flying away. Since then, Guangzhou has been known as the "City of Rams" and is often abbreviated as "穗".
